The Confident Audition

Prepare for the room before the moment matters.

Each February, actors throughout the Greater Seattle area step into the Theatre Puget Sound Unified General Auditions and other season auditions held by the region’s union, non-union, and union-affiliated theatres. This live, three-hour workshop will help you prepare with greater clarity, make intentional choices, and enter the room ready to share your work.

Choose Your Workshop Date

Your audition begins before you enter the room

Preparation creates room for presence.

These auditions ask you to communicate who you are, what you can do, and the kinds of stories you are ready to tell—often within only a few minutes.

Whether you are preparing for the TPS Unified General Auditions, another regional general audition, or your next individual opportunity, this workshop will help strengthen both your preparation and your presence.

01

Select with intention

Choose material that supports how you want to be seen and gives the room a meaningful glimpse of you.

02

Prepare strategically

Make clear, specific choices so you can stop second-guessing and trust the work you have done.

03

Enter with presence

Manage nerves, remain responsive, recover when the unexpected happens, and finish with connection.

This is for you if…

You want to feel ready—not rehearsed within an inch of your life.

  • You are preparing for the Theatre Puget Sound Unified General Auditions.
  • You plan to audition for union, non-union, or union-affiliated theatres in Greater Seattle.
  • You have material but are uncertain whether it represents you well.
  • You know your work but lose connection when you enter the audition room.
  • You are returning to auditioning after time away.
  • You want greater clarity about how you present yourself as a performer.

What to bring

Bring the work you are preparing.

  • Your current monologue or audition material
  • Any available TPS or theatre audition requirements
  • Your questions about material, preparation, presentation, or the audition process
  • A willingness to work, experiment, and receive direction

“An audition is not only about proving you can perform. It is an opportunity to let the room experience who you are.”
